The meaning of “I AM THE FOUNDATION”

​“With the fire and spirit of the originals, I Am The Foundation” is more than a statement of pride. It’s a declaration of responsibility.


The “fire” represents passion that refuses to die.

The “spirit of the originals” speaks to the pioneers, the purists, the ones who built something real before trends, shortcuts, and imitation diluted it. It’s about carrying their discipline, sacrifice, and authenticity forward.


“I Am The Foundation” does not mean “I am above everyone.”

It means:

I am willing to carry the weight.

To preserve the principles that everything else was built on.

To stand firm when styles, opinions, and eras change.


A foundation is rarely celebrated like the walls or the lights above it, but without it, everything collapses.


So the quote becomes a creed for someone who sees themselves not as a follower of the art, but as a guardian of its original spirit, someone who keeps the craft alive so future generations can build upon something solid instead of imitation.

​ It’s 1:04 AM. The tournament ended yesterday, and for the first time all day, I’m finally starting to feel sleepy. Lying here thinking about everything that’s happened over the last few days, I realize I may have had one of my favorite weekends in a very long time. ​ Good morning! Today is June 4th, and I’m on my way to New Jersey to rest and prepare for my first-round match against Takada in GCW’s Tournament of Survival. Before that, though, I get to spend time at Catch Point and take a class taught by Tracy Williams. That alone has me excited. Every time I’m around Tracy, I leave inspired. I leave thinking differently. Learning differently. Seeing wrestling through a new lens. I truly believe he is one of the brightest minds in professional wrestling today, and I’m grateful that I’ll get two days to learn from someone whose passion for the craft is as deep as his understanding of it.   I find it really telling and honestly interesting that so many people in wrestling right now are all exploring "what wrestling can be", while also feeling like something has changed... or needs to change. So where are we? Are we at the edge, or is there still room to push forward? And more importantly should we? At what point does chasing "evolution" start to come at the cost of safety, longevity, and the integrity of the craft? Those are real questions. Because here's the truth to me at least: independent wrestling, the space that once gave us creativity, individuality, and freedom, now feels like it's slipping away. With the rise of major promotions and their ability to secure talent, the room to create has gotten smaller. More and more, it feels like there's only one way to pertorm, and only one way to fit in.
